Medicare providers are required to meet the CMS Emergency Preparedness Standards in addition to the Disaster Plan Standards. Guidance is available on the Emergency Preparedness Standard (
Appendix Z) and the Disaster Preparedness Plan Standard (
Appendix L/§416.41(c)/Standard: Disaster Preparedness Plan/ Tag Q0043).
